XRPL Korea announced on October 6 that Asia's largest XRP conference, "XRP Seoul 2026," has successfully concluded. This year's conference was held on October 3 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul in Yongsan District, Seoul, with more than 5,000 attendees. The conference took place during "2026 Korea Blockchain Week" (KBW2026 with Upbit), a significant increase in scale compared to last year's event, which drew approximately 3,000 attendees. Attendees entered the venue using NFT tickets issued on the XRPL.
The event was hosted by XRPL Korea, with Ripple serving as the title sponsor. In addition, a total of 18 Korean and global companies provided sponsorship support, with Doppler Finance and Kweather serving as platinum sponsors, and other sponsors including t54 Labs, Flare, Tria, Datavault AI, Evernorth, Variational, SOIL, Squid, Biconomy, Girin Wallet, Surf AI, RiskX, Firelight, Creder, Axelar, and RedStone.
Multiple leaders from the XRP ecosystem took the stage to speak. Ripple President Monica Long led the lineup of Ripple executives, which included Senior Director of Ecosystem Growth Christina Chan and Senior Director of Engineering Ayo Akinyele. Multiple leaders from the global finance and blockchain sectors also spoke, including Robinhood Senior Vice President Johann Kerbrat, Evernorth CEO Asheesh Birla, and SC Ventures Executive Director Alex Toh. Representatives from Korean financial institutions also participated, including Woori Bank, Kakao Bank, K Bank, Kyobo Securities, Meritz Securities, and JB Bank, bringing the total number of speakers to approximately 40.
In a fireside chat with Chan, Long stated that Ripple is conducting a credit pilot project with the goal of officially launching next year. The project will use XRP as collateral to provide financing for some of its customers' payment flows. Subsequently, in his keynote speech, Akinyele introduced multiple new features coming to the XRP Ledger, including confidential transfers powered by zero-knowledge proof technology, as well as dedicated infrastructure for AI agents.
At the conference venue, the official establishment of XRP Asia was also announced. XRP Asia is an independent organization supported by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation, headquartered in Singapore, and will provide support for developer education, hackathons, and startup funding. XRP Asia President Sabrina Tachdjian introduced the related plans, including supporting existing communities such as XRPL Korea and XRPL Japan, while establishing new communities in the Asia-Pacific region.
Subsequently, various sponsors delivered keynote speeches. In the Kweather session, Wellbian Labs CEO Sunghwan Kim introduced new opportunities in the weather data business. Afterward, t54 Labs founder Chandler Fang spoke about the agent economy on XRPL, while Flare co-founder Hugo Philion discussed how to build XRP into programmable capital. Datavault AI CEO Nathaniel T. Bradley and Tria Chief Strategy Officer John Lilic respectively introduced the tokenized asset operating system and Tria's new digital banking strategy for XRP.
Multiple panel discussions focused on how financial institutions can apply tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and real-world asset tokenization. In a session jointly participated in by Ripple, K Bank, Kyobo Securities, JB Bank, and Woori Bank, the guests discussed how to bring blockchain technology into cross-border payments and deposit operations. In the stablecoin session, Leo Lee of Kakao Bank introduced the bank's plan to integrate basic digital asset services into its core banking operations starting in 2027. In the tokenization session, Samuel Shim, Head of Global Digital Assets at Meritz Securities, stated that for the Korean won stablecoin market to grow, a clearer regulatory framework is needed. Other panel discussions also covered XRP utility and tokenized asset topics involving Evernorth, Flare, SOIL, and Firelight, as well as on-chain financial infrastructure, real-world use cases of XRPL, and XRP ecosystem growth strategies.
In a session titled "The Next Wave of On-Chain Innovation," Robinhood shared its views on tokenized stocks. Kerbrat pointed out that 70% of the company's trading volume comes from weekends and nighttime, and stated that enabling 24/7 trading of tokenized stocks is an extraordinary transformation. He explained that blockchain can solve settlement delays in traditional finance and improve trading infrastructure.
In the exhibition area, various sponsors carried out interactive experience programs through booths and engaged with attendees. These programs allowed participants to experience the various services of the XRPL ecosystem firsthand outside of the conference agenda, and received an enthusiastic response.
That evening, Namsan Seoul Tower was lit up to celebrate the holding of the XRP Seoul conference. The tower displayed the XRP logo through beam projections, as well as the brand logos of Kweather, Doppler Finance, Datavault AI, and Evernorth.
A representative of XRPL Korea stated: "Following last year's approximately 3,000 attendees, more than 5,000 community members gathered this year, fully confirming the strong interest in the XRP ecosystem." The representative added: "Through XRP Seoul, we will continue to promote connections between the global XRPL ecosystem and Korean financial institutions, enterprises, and developers, and will turn these exchanges into tangible partnerships and services."
XRPL Korea plans to release a highlight video of this event in the coming days.
