D-Day is finally here and in a few hours the Batch amendment and its fix fixBatchV1_2 will be live. The XRP ecosystem will see a triumph in the launch of the Batch feature, which has had its share of setbacks in the past.
On February 19, 2026, security researchers and Cantina AI identified a critical logic bug in the signature-validation process of the original Batch amendment. The amendment was in its voting phase and had not been activated on Mainnet.
XRPLD v3.3.0 shipped a replacement amendment, Batch V1.1, that introduced the corrected implementation. The main focus was bug-fixing and further hardening the implementation.
Fast forward to September 2026, and Batch had secured a majority and was about to go live on Mainnet on September 29, 2026. This timing shifted after the amendment was temporarily rejected to restart the two-week activation window.
A minor issue was detected and the fix was included in the XRPLd 3.4.1 release; the XRP community flipped their votes to allow Batch to simultaneously launch with its fix update.
The Batch amendment remains significant as it is a prerequisite or accelerant for several high-value XRPL use cases already under contract or in active pipeline, including atomic multi-party settlements.
Batch is also expected to support ecosystem growth, being one of the most requested features by XRPL application developers and the community broadly.
In a separate development, Permission Delegation went live on the XRP Ledger on October 8, 2026, marking a major milestone for the network.
RippleX's Shota Natenadze noted that Permission Delegation, Dynamic MPTs, Atomic Batch, Confidential Transfers, and Sponsored Fees take XRPL from tokenizing to moving value the way institutions need.
XRP price awaits move
At the time of writing, XRP was down 0.44% in the last 24 hours to $1.39, awaiting its next move following yesterday's sharp drop. Cryptocurrencies slid late Thursday after Fed minutes showed most officials expected another rate hike before year-end.
XRP fell sharply to $1.31 on Thursday, marking four days of decline from a high of $1.52 on October 5, 2026. The price drop saw XRP trade below the daily MA 50 for the first time since August 19.
A rebound will see XRP attempt to recover above the daily MA 50, currently at $1.43, while a further drop might see XRP price test support at the daily MA 200 at $1.28.
