Startale Group has launched Startale Card, a virtual payment card designed to bring onchain assets into everyday commerce.
Integrated with the Startale App, the card allows eligible users to spend USDSC at a global network of more than 150 million merchant locations without first transferring funds to a bank account or withdrawing them through a cryptocurrency exchange.
The rollout follows significant initial interest, with more than 300,000 waitlist reservations recorded since July. Access is initially available to eligible early contributors, with the company planning to extend invitations to other waitlisted users in priority order throughout November.
The launch adds payment functionality to Startale's broader financial platform, which already supports digital asset management, swaps, earning opportunities and USDSC balances.
"We believe the next generation of financial superapps will bring saving, earning and spending into one seamless experience. That's the vision behind Startale App, a place where your assets can keep working for you, from growing your wealth to spending it in the real world," said Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale Group.
Visa network connects USDSC to everyday payments
Startale Card is issued by Rain, a Visa principal member and provider of stablecoin-based payment infrastructure. Rain's technology connects eligible onchain assets to the global merchant acceptance network, enabling users to move USDSC to their virtual card and pay at supported locations.
The product also includes cashback paid in USDSC and credited directly to users' accounts. This adds a spending-related reward feature to the app's existing asset management and earning functions.
Eligible users can activate the card through the Startale App. The process involves opening the Card tab, completing the required know-your-customer (KYC) verification and activating the virtual card. Purchases are then available at supported merchants, subject to the card program's eligibility criteria and terms.
The payment functionality is separate from other Startale App services, including Earn, yield products, swaps, cashback features and USDSC balances. Those products are governed by their own terms and conditions.
Rain, as the card issuer, is not a party to agreements between users and Startale covering services outside the card program and is not responsible for transactions or arrangements that do not constitute card payments.
Waitlist campaign offers earlier access
Users who have not yet received an invitation can still join the Startale Card waitlist through the app. Alongside the launch, Startale has introduced Card Chase, a referral campaign intended to give participants another way to move up the queue.
Under the campaign, users invite friends to the Startale App. Each Quest completed by a referred participant advances the referring user's position in the waitlist, potentially bringing forward access to the card.
The phased rollout will continue throughout November, with invitations issued according to waitlist priority and subject to eligibility requirements.
The launch expands Startale App's role beyond onchain asset management by adding a payment option connected to a global merchant network.
The company describes this broader product direction through the concept of an "App for More than Money," bringing saving, earning and spending together within a single financial experience.
