Ripple Legend David Schwartz Highlights Physical XRP Game That Most Traders Overlooked

Ripple's former Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz posted on X a photo of him unboxing physical Fuzzy Cards boosters in his own kitchen. Schwartz directly thanked the senders, mentioning the official project account.

For market participants, this gesture by the legendary developer became a demonstration of top management's interest in a physical game based on XRP, which until now had not been noticed by a wide circle of traders.

Earlier in May, Schwartz opened a trustline to the project's native token FUZZY, and the card demonstration took place on the eve of the Ripple Swell 2026 conference in New York, where the community is preparing a parallel event, FuzzyCon.

How a 2014 order turned into a board game

Fuzzy Cards is based on a historical precedent: on January 1, 2014, the FuzzyBear wallet placed an order on the XRPL decentralized exchange to swap 1 XRP for 1 BTC. The order remained unfilled, but in early 2025 the community launched the meme token FUZZY as a tribute, which by October 2026 had gathered more than 11,500 holders.

In this context, the Swiss publisher XPUNKS GmbH (Zug), led by Kai Leroy, released the first trading card game within the XRP Ledger. The starter series includes 150 unique cards (Heroes, Relics, Events) across five in-game factions, about 60 of which are produced in holographic format.

Distribution is tied to a hybrid on-chain mechanic: users buy digital packs in NFT format (XLS-20 standard) and irreversibly burn them through a special portal to receive a physical counterpart. After the burn is recorded on the blockchain, the system sends the owner a sealed paper booster of 5 random cards that support professional grading by CGC, PCA, and TAG.

To date, holders have burned about 100,000 booster packs. According to Leroy's estimate, this process is developing against the backdrop of a bull run, largely unnoticed by the market, in the sector of hybrid Web3 projects, where demand is shifting toward tangible assets.

The high barrier to copying the project is due to long physical production times and the complexity of balancing game mathematics: a 150-card set can generate trillions of combinations, which protects the sector from quick speculative launches.

At the same time, FUZZY remains a volatile meme asset whose price is tied to the XRP market, while the retail distribution program through local board game stores for a commission is still at the rollout stage.
